Sailor Senshi Page FAQ

Is Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon ever going to air in the United States?

No. Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon is a live action Japanese series, and foreign language live action series are almost never shown in the US. Even series like Power Rangers were redone with English actors, and that isn't likely to happen with Sailor Moon. At this point, it is also very unlikely that the series will ever be released in North America on DVD.

I can't download your Movie Files!

Please do not e-mail me about this. Instructions on downloading from the FTP server are on the movies page. Please read the instructions- they've been specially bolded so you'll read them. Everything you need to know is on that page. If you can't download, there's a reason for that. The server may be down, there may be connection problems, or you may be banned. E-mails requesting me to send you movies or to tell you how to download movies will be automatically deleted.

Please do not ask me to put up files on the Mirror server. Downloads use up bandwidth, and bandwidth costs money. When movies are taken down, it is because this site is about to use up its bandwidth; when the bandwidth is used up, this site goes down, so you won't be able to access anything, much less download movies from it.

I'd like to host (mirror) your Movie Files.

Thank you, that's very kind, but unless you have tons of free bandwidth you aren't using (at least 40 gigs/month), being a mirror is something you simply can't do. Mezelf's FTP server currently uses approximately 40-50 gigs/month, and that's with a maximum of 6 users on at a time. When I had mirrors up for only two-three senshi, bandwidth usage was at 50-60 gigs/month, if not more. This website gets around 800-1200 unique users per day, and I'm sure many of them want to download movie clips. It simply isn't feasible for most people to serve as mirrors.

If you only want to host mirror certain files, that might be possible, but you'd probably still use at least 10 gigs/month. Keep in mind that acting as a mirror is likely to turn a lot of traffic from the FTP server to your mirror. You probably also have a lot of other websites you like to maintain, and you probably don't want to have your site go down for exceeding bandwidth, to have to pay additional bandwidth costs, or to have your entire website shut down for too much bandwidth or for consuming too many server resources.

Unlimited/unmetered bandwidth does not exist. If your host tells you that's what you have, it's not true. You probably have 2-10 gigs of bandwidth a month.

Submitting Fan Works

  • I no longer accept fanfics. When my site was deleted by a previous host, I lost all fanfics I'd received. If you want to submit your stories or poems to a fanfic archive, I recommend A Sailor Moon Romance.
  • I am currently not accepting new fanart or fanmusic. I may reopen them in the future, but given time constraints, that is unlikely.

Sailormoon Dumb Rumors
  • I no longer accept submissions for the Dumb Rumors page.

Contributing to the Sailormoon World Page

I am currently VERY backlogged with submissions on the World Page, so at this time, I am not accepting contributions. I am very sorry about this, since I know that section needs to be massively updated, but I just don't have the time right now to update it. :/

Submitting Information, News, or Corrections

If you are submitting information, news pieces, or corrections to the site, please go to the bottom of this page. However, please do not try justifying rumors that can't be justified. If you are correcting me, please be polite about it.

Sailormoon Anime, Manga, and Character Questions

Who is Chibi Chibi?
Who is that red-haired girl who looks like Rini?
Is Chibi Chibi Rini or Serena's daughter?
Who are the Sailor Starlights?
Who are those other Sailor Scouts?

If you are asking questions about a Sailor Senshi, season name, villain name, etc., please actually look through The Sailor Senshi Page before e-mailing me. This page is meant to be a resource, that's why it's here. Please do not ask me who the Starlights are or who ChibiChibi (the little girl with the red hearts in her hair) is- I have all of these questions answered on my page.

Use the Sailor Senshi Page Site Map to navigate the entire webpage to find the information that you need. If you still ask me questions I've already answered, I will probably answer you but only with links to the various sections of my page that have those pieces of information. If you have looked through my site and can't find the answer to your question, you can e-mail me then, and I'll try to help you.

When is SailorStars going to be dubbed?

I don't know. It may never be. I'm not affiliated with any anime or dubbing companies in any way. However, if a company publicly announces that they will dub SailorStars, then I will post a notice on my page. Until then, I know as much as you do.

Where can I buy Anything Sailor Moon? (Videos, Video Games, Toys, Manga, Etc.)

Please do not e-mail me asking how to buy Sailormoon items or how to get them cheaply, especially if you live outside of the United States or Canada. I simpy don't know, unless stated here. Manga can always be ordered online, and if you're in the US/Canada, you can acquire much of the anime commercially. Otherwise, you must resort to online shopping and importing (with importing fees).

Please keep in mind that Sailor Moon in North America is, and has been, rather dead for quite some time. In Japan, Sailor Moon's popularity died out after the series ended in 1996, and interest in the series has only recently been revived within the past two or three years. A ton of stuff that was released in Japan no longer is, mostly because it's been 4-11 years since it originally came out. I don't keep tabs on what you can buy in Japan.

Manga/Comic Books: Manga can be bought online from Japanese import stores, like Sasuga Books. Try other ones as well.

Videos/DVDs: In North America, all three Sailormoon movies are commercially available dubbed and subbed on VHS and DVD; the Sailormoon S TV series is subbed and dubbed on VHS and DVD; the SuperS TV series is subbed and dubbed on VHS and DVD; the Sailor Moon and Sailor Moon R DIC dub are on VHS by ADV; the Sailor Moon and Sailor Moon R uncut subtitled series will eventually be available on DVD only by ADV; and you can buy English translated manga in bookstores or online. Please see the Sailor Senshi Page Store for more details on where you can buy those items.

Japanese DVDs: I don't believe the Japanese DVDs have English subtitles. I haven't heard or read otherwise, and I don't see any reason why they would, given that they're released in Japan for the Japanese. If you want to import them, go ahead, just remember that DVDs in Japan are 1) expensive, 2) expensive to import, and 3) require a Region 2 DVD player.

Fansubs, VCDs, Bootlegs, Cheap DVDs, Downloaded Episodes: I will not assist you in getting bootlegs, sorry. VCDs are probably bootlegs, by the way. DVDs that 1) have a ton of episodes on them for a cheap cost, 2) are Region-Free or are playable on any DVD player whatsoever, 3) have Chinese and English subtitles, 4) are exported from Hong Kong, 5) are incredibly cheap are also bootlegs. Most fansubs are no longer distributed.

Toys, Video Games, Posters, Playing Cards, Trading Cards, Etc.: I don't know. Please don't ask. I got most of my items in Taiwan or in Chinatown a long time ago, when Sailor Moon was in its first run of the fourth season in Japan. If you're desperate, try eBay.com. Keep in mind that a lot of toys, posters, trading cards, and video games are bootlegged, so make sure you know you're buying original goods when you bid on them.

Where can I find Sailormoon Lyrics, Episode Summaries, Etc.?

If asking me where you can find Sailormoon song lyrics, Sailormoon episode summaries, fanfic archives, or just where to find ANYTHING please visit the Sailor Senshi Page Site Map. This has a listing of all areas of my site, so if you're having trouble finding something, check there to see if this site actually has what you need. If you can't find anything, then visit the Links Page before you ask me questions. The Links Page has lots of nice links to various resources that will aid you in finding whatever Sailormoon stuff you need.

Tell me where I can get Sailormoon subtitled!

The three Sailormoon movies are commercially available subbed on VHS and DVD; the Sailormoon S TV series is subbed on VHS and DVD; and the SuperS TV series is subbed on VHS and DVD. (All three seasons are also available dubbed.) The Sailor Moon and Sailor Moon R DIC dub have being released on VHS by ADV. ADV will also be releasing the first two seasons uncut in Japanese with English subtitles on DVD. The fifth and last season, SailorStars, is not commercially available. Please see the Sailor Senshi Page Store for more details on where you can buy these items.

I need help making a webpage!

If you have problems creating a webpage or making images, please see the following sites for help:

  • If you want to make your own webpage, you first have to sign up for a webpage account at places like Geocities or Tripod. These places have webpage creators for you that are VERY VERY easy to use and require NO knowledge of HTML. If you are have problems with your account, please note that I do NOT run these places. These webpage providers have Help centers or people to contact if you need more help; you should find all your answers on their pages.
  • If you want to learn actual HTML, Htmlgoodies.com has tutorials and stuff on using HTML, Javascript, and other stuff.
  • If you need help with images, you can download trial versions of programs like Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop, and there are other programs you can probably find to edit images. There are tutorials on the web, too, just try running a search on Google.
  • The Amazoness Quartet runs a good resource page on creating webpages with links to other resources. Check them out.

Can I use your Information?

No, not without asking. You may most definitely use the SSP as a resource, but copying my information, cutting and pasting my words, paraphrasing what I've written, and rearranging what I've said all count as plagiarism. There's a huge difference between copying someone and using someone's site as a resource. If you're not sure, ask me. Be as specific as possible- what you need the information for, the URL of your site, how you will use the information, etc. The more I know, the faster I'll answer.

Can I use your Pictures?

Only the pictures from the Galleries, except for the Doujinshi Gallery and Cels page, may be used on your website. You may NOT use pictures from any other section of this site without permission. This especially includes the Manga character pages. Furthermore, the following requests are made:

  • Taking all the pictures so that you can form your own image gallery is extremely rude. Doing so is considered blatant copying. Please only take images you really need for your website. Copying my sections and pages with my images is, again, plagiarism. For example, making your own "Page of Death" or "Sailormoon Anime Books" page with all of my images is not allowed.
  • You MUST credit the Sailor Senshi Page for all the pictures used from this website. You MUST link back to the Sailor Senshi Page at http://www.eternalsailormoon.org/ Do not hide the link where no one can find it, and do NOT just do a general, "Some pictures came from the SSP" thing stuck at the bottom of a links page. Please distinguish between scans from this site, scans from other sites, and your own scans.
  • You may not allow people to freely take images on your site that originally came from this site. Direct them to the SSP instead.
  • If you have a problem with these policies, then don't use my images. I don't have the patience to deal with image-thieves and people who yell at me about not being able to use my images. If anyone else can make the same image, then you can make your own and don't need mine. It's very simple.

I don't believe in the whole "You didn't draw the pictures so they're not your own so don't bother to take credit for them" mentality. Would you like it if I stole all your images? If you're one of those free for all image galleries, would you want me or anyone else to steal all the images from your site and make an image gallery exactly like yours? If you're going to go with this argument, technically you shouldn't even be putting up any Sailormoon images, should you? You don't own them, you have no right to them. This excuse is laziness: "I'm too lazy to make my own images, so I'll steal from someone else."

I am not claiming to own these images, nor do I claim a copyright on them; on the other hand, a lot of my time and effort DID go into these images. If you'd like to use all my images, then you can pay me for the artbooks I've purchased, my scanner, all the time I spent scanning the images, any damage to my books that resulted from scanning, and all other costs. Otherwise, don't whine.

I've seen this site with your information...

If you've stumbled upon a site that has cut and pasted information from my site, then it's probably stolen, despite what the owner may claim. I have never let ANYONE copy information word for word from the SSP, and I never will. I have allowed some websites to use statistics, images, and general information, but these are probably credited on those sites. If you've seen some site ripping me off, please e-mail me with its URL. Thank you.

You suck! Your site sucks! I hate you!

If you are e-mailing me to flame me, please read the following:

    • Take a few deep breaths. Relax. Get your blood pressure down.
    • Think about why you're flaming me.
    • Get over it.

Whatever it is you're pissed about, please get over it. As far as I know, I have not said anything on my page that is racist, sexist, homophobic, etc. If something I said SEEMS to be racist or sexist or whatever, it's probably just a joke and is not mean-spirited. These are the only reasons that I think are legitimate to get flames over.

If you don't like my policies, fine. Find a site whose policies you DO agree with.

If you're mad that I don't like your favorite senshi, season, anime, whatever, go find people who do agree with you. That's a really stupid reason to flame me over, and frankly, if you still flame me because of it, you really need a life pretty badly. Don't expect that calling me nasty things will do anything; yeah, I'm so sure that being called a lezbo bitch will make me suddenly want to think like you. What kind of logic tells you that insulting someone rudely, calling them names, and making up lies about them will make them change their minds?

    Comments and Compliments

If you're sending me a nice message about how you like my page or my fanfics, thank you in advance. I may not e-mail you back (due to a combination of being busy and being lazy), but I most likely got it and really do appreciate positive feedback. =)

    Who's your favorite scout/soldier/sailor?

My favorite Sailor Soldier is Neptune, then Uranus.

Please keep in mind that any vague or dumb requests will not be answered. This includes things like, "Hi, I'm making a Sailor Moon site, I need lots of info and pics, can I use your stuff?" My not answering you or not e-mailing you response does NOT mean, "Yes, you can take whatever you want from the SSP." It just means 1) I'm busy, 2) Your request indicated that you didn't read this FAQ at all, or 3) Your e-mail was so rude, weird, dumb, out-of-there, whatever that I don't want to reply.

PLEASE NOTE: I am NOT Matthew. Matthew is my friend who helps maintain this site, including writing up the DVD reviews, creating most of the PGSM section, and making all the movies. Matthew does NOT OWN THE SSP.
